Abstract

In Manaus City, the hillside areas are occupied by a population that does not have the resources to protect these areas from possible problems caused by the occupation itself, such as wastewater, drainage, hillside containment and road clearances. In general, these occupations are promoted in a simplified way by the population itself. The geological risk is related to occupations that are vulnerable to natural or provoked processes that cause impacts to this population subject to damage to physical integrity, material and property losses. Among the susceptible geological hazards, this study highlights the gullies, which would be an erosive process of excavation in the direction of the drainage of the area, which can generate land collapses, with landslides and landslides. Thus, this study includes visits to the areas and bibliographic research in academic articles and technical reports about gullies and constructive forms of containment, in possession of the information, identifying alternatives for slope containment for erosive processes in limit stage for intervention as a way of protect the occupied areas, resulting in a reference document for future studies on the subject.
