Reflective essay that aims to bring together conceptual frameworks on coconut farming, from a global, national, and regional approach and with a focus on the National Policy to Encourage Quality Coconut Farming. It was possible to verify that the coconut culture is of fundamental importance for the Brazilian economy, mainly because it integrates the subsistence of small farmers who depend on this activity. The study brings an important clipping on the growth of production, commercialization, and exportation. The cognitive line also points out the importance of social commitment in monitoring this policy, since it arose from demands and proposals of society. It is concluded, then, that studying coconut culture is a challenge that involves the search for communication and the widening of interdisciplinary contexts that provide the necessary improvements in the production chain, involving the conception of technologies that start from the development of projects to promote the evolution of the culture based on the premise of economic, social, and environmental.
