Sustainable development has become a recurring theme given the current trend of increasing consumption. The United Nations (UN), in the context of the 2030 Agenda, presents objectives and goals inherent to responsible consumption and sustainability, themes that also resonate in the context of the Fair Trade phenomenon. In Brazil, the legislation (still in force) refers to Portaria MTE n. 2,060 of 12/30/2014. The objective of this research is to evaluate the achievement of Objective 12 of Agenda 2030 according to this internal regulation. It is pure, qualitative, descriptive and inductive research, using bibliography and legislation. It is concluded that the guidelines of Portaria MTE nº 2.060 / 2014 are in harmony with the goals of Objective 12 of Agenda 2030 and that the Fair Trade proposal is an effective alternative to achieve the purpose of environmentally friendly consumption and social production standards.
