The research was conducted in financial institutions and their customers-member in five municipalities belonging to this region. The research had a qualitative and descriptive nature and the data were collected through interviews with seventy clients and seven managers of cooperatives, which is the sample of this study. The research roadmap included structured questions and was sent and responded through electronic means. Main conclusions are that the institutions have a strong presence in social and environmental areas, promoting actions at the national as well as regional level. However, there are two aspects that deserve attention, being the lack of engagement with its customers and poor disclosure of their actions to the same, and the second aspect was the lack of indicators to measure the participation and adherence of customers to the environmental actions of the institutions.
