SCHOOL PHYSICAL EDUCATION: EPISTEMOLOGICAL CHALLENGES

Abstract

The objective is to present the results of epistemological studies on the physical education production of researchers working in the Northeast region of Brazil. The results of two investigations (2005 and 2017) on the subject of School Physical Education were compared. The results indicate that the predominant theme in 2005 (20%) appears secondary in a new investigation in 2017 (10.14%). Despite being overcome by issues of biodynamic, the school problem remains basic to understand the construction of the scientific field of physical education in Brazil. However, the construction of this scientific field requires a deepening of its nature and its epistemological status.
