Abstract

The present text seeks to reflect on the Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education (LDB N.9.394 / 96), specifically to analyze child education after 20 years of validity of the law previously mentioned. In this sense, we approach the national context, in which the law was enacted, the changes that directly affected children's education in that period, especially regarding to the access, and the current challenges to make children’s and their families rights come true. It highlights that we still have a long way to run in the implementation of public policies for child education.
