CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AFTER LDB: RECENT SETTINGS OF MUNICIPAL NETWORK IN SANTA CATARINA

This text is the result of an investigation that is part of a larger study which aimed to know the landscape of early childhood education in the state of Santa Catarina after approval of the 1996 LDB. The research aimed to contribute to the knowledge of the recent settings of education of municipal network in the State, with greater coverage of early childhood education. Data were collected in 2012 through a questionnaire sent to 20% of the total 293 municipalities in the state of Santa Catarina, and despite the limitations concerning the data collection process, there was a return of 32 questionnaires. In this text, data on the organizational characteristics of the educational system of the municipalities are presented and analyzed, particularly as each municipality organizes its education system; the structure of departments, whether they have a team of pedagogical support to educational institutions; which data on the coverage and care to early childhood education are available (number of children served, type of service, classes, times).
