In this text, we aim to compare the antiracist educational legislation of Brazil and Colombia, focusing on the black population: Law 10.639/03 and the Afro-Colombian Studies Chair. We start from the point of view of the coloniality of power, by Quijano (2005), and the different forms of mobilization of black people in both countries. We argue that current country legislation meets the anti-racist agenda to overcome aspects of the coloniality of power in education.
