This work aims to investigate how recent research in education has approached religious diversity in elementary school. A systematic review of the literature was carried out, of articles published in the SCIELO and BASE databases, from 2017 to 2021. The seven resulting articles were analyzed from two categories: 1) the identification of situations of religious racism; 2) strategies to combat religious racism. Phenomena that drive religious racism in elementary school were mentioned, as the neo-pentecostal advance, poor teacher training and the habit of Christian teachers to mark pedagogical phenomena by their subjective religious values. A significant part of the studies points to the need to educate in order to understand differences as something that constitutes human cultural heritage.
