The work of Matilde Rosa Araújo, a major name in childhood literature in Portugal, whose centenary of birth is celebrated this year, constitutes a hymn to nature and humanity, encompassing multiple potentialities for an integrative approach to the curriculum, serving mainly to the change that the new educational paradigm envisages. Framing our reflection on recent government guidelines, arising mainly from the 2030 Agenda and education for the objectives of sustainable development, and crossing it with the thematic axes emerging from Matilde's work, we present a work proposal, where literary education and written, due to the transversal character of which they are clothed, they appear as means of construction of a humanizing pedagogy, centered on an attentive look at the Other and the House that we inhabit together.
