Abstract

The study shows that, the economic incentives currently applied by the Government, none of them have functionality toward the environment. While some have their foundation focused on sustainability, as the ecological IPTU, after surveying the existing environmental standards proposed by INEA, CONAMA among other regulatory agencies, it was observed that, with respect to environmental licensing itself, there are no economic incentive instruments. So, we conclude that it is essential to approximate public and private interests in order to provide improvements in environmental quality and a well-structured environment economic policy encouraging companies to act correctly under economic, environmental and legal, aspects.
