Abstract

Result of reflections of a master's research this paper aims to put the spotlight on the relationship with shellfish fishing environment and social interactions they experience in this place . For this purpose it was used as a methodological technique of participant observation. The theoretical contribution is the study of Diegues (1983 ) and Cardoso (2003) on fishing communities , the phenomenology of the body Csordas (2008 ) and Meleau - Ponty (1971) and the theory of social representations in Goffman (2009 ) Through labor activity, which is shellfish, these women develop between them preserve forms and control of the fishing area that are guided by tacit agreements in the workplace, potentially influenced by the presence of nature Among these practices, highlight the interim management of shellfish and crannies of the alternation in the use of coastal. Unlike industrial societies, where the competition for territory happens through the furious exploitation of natural resources, the tide, the seafood restaurants for being in an environment in essentially collective, collaborative learning and sustainable practices for dealing with nature live with coworkers and manage time and collecting shellfish. Through the construction and assimilation of this knowledge they keep the preserved environment, share equitably the territory and survive through dependence and respect for nature. Therefore, it is concluded that this dependence determines the mode of the sustainable seafood manage the fishing environment and directs the interaction between coworkers.
