BIOMIMICRY AND AMAZONIAN BIODIVERSITY IN BRAZILIAN FASHION

Biomimicry is a promising field for designers look up to ecossystemic answers to the everyday world. But, has biodiversity, especially that from Amazon, has been source of inspiration and learning in fashion projects in brazilian? The objective of this article is to explore this question through examples in eletronic research (documental and bibliographic). The discovered projects were discussed in the light of the diferents types of analogy with nature: morphological, symbolic and/or functional. From the results obtained it was noticed the existence of few cases of biomimetic concepts aplication in relation to Amazon region in brazilian fashion. This suggests the oppening to future projects or just a limitation of this research. Therefore, in the end, the study brings perspectives for sustainability in fashion in which mimicry of nature is considered. And it alsos reinforces the importance of organizations and the responsible role of designers in the conception of a society more conscious of its habitat.
