Abstract

The aim of this article is to review the situation of Middle Technical and Technological Education in Uruguay and to draw some historical guidelines in order to link some of the current problems, to the origins of the institution as a correctional for poor youngsters. For that, there will be reviewed some historical background and, by the analysis of some statistics specially prepared for this work there will be described the current situation of this level and type of Formal Education in Uruguay
