Abstract

In this article, we analyze the vestiges of the escolanovista and hygienist movement in Alagoas and its implications in the school curriculum. This work is a cut of the dissertation titled The marks of hygienism of Arthur Ramos in the New School and in the curriculum in years 1920-1940 in Alagoas. Thus, we aimed to investigate how power relations were established in the school context; to analyze the discourse of Arthur Ramos and his influence in the construction of the school curriculum in Alagoas. One of the instruments of analysis was the Jornal de Alagoas (1939) that circulated in the state with sessions written by the hygienist Arthur Ramos, directing orientations to the family and school education of the popular class. In the field of historiography, the perspective of the School of the Anals, the New Cultural History, is used, for understanding that it is the function of the historian to search and recover stories and characters considered as invisible. Thus, this is a research of documentary and bibliographic character. It is observed that Arthur Ramos influenced the construct of the Escolanovista curriculum divulging these ideas in the Journal of Alagoas (1939), being this one means of circulation destined also to the school education and the population in general.

    Possui licenciatura plena em Pedagogia (2015), pela Universidade Federal de Alagoas (UFAL), Psicopedagogia Institucional (2016), pela Faculdade de Ensino Regioanal Aternativo (FERA) ; Mestrado em Educação (2018), pela Universidade Federal de Alagoas (UFAL), na área História do Currículo e da Educação. Atualmente é professora da rede pública municipal de Maceió.
  • Roseane Maria de Amorim, Professora do Centro de Educação da Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB).
    Possui graduação em Licenciatura em História pela Universidade Católica de Pernambuco (1996), mestrado em Educação pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (2004) e doutorado em Educação pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (2011). Atualmente é professora Centro de Educação da Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB). Tem experiência na área de Educação, com ênfase em História da Educação, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: educação, currículo, ensino de história, livro didático e formação de professores.
