Abstract

From an empiric research with a group of babies aged from 18 to 24 months, carried out in the countryside of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, this article analyzes the interaction of the babies in a situation of intentionally planned reading mediation with the book Eu vi !, by Fernando Vilela. The study searches to answer the question: How is the interaction of babies with literature books selected by the National Library at School Program (PNBE in Portuguese acronym) effective from experiences planned intentionally for research? The analysis of data constructed points that the adequate mediation may favor the learning by babies in the knowledge of themselves and their environment.
