Abstract

This article discusses the contribution of listening to children to think about the specificity of teaching in children's education; aims to contribute to the debate about the guidelines for the education of teachers of childhood education, qualifying the basic education in Brazil. It is considered that when knowing the children, we inform the education of children. Thereunto, the important reflections that seek to capture the generational contribution of children help in the construction of a proposal of education for children, inclusive, democratic and emancipatory. The recognition of early childhood education as a first stage of basic education has consequences for the training of their professionals, since the knowledge regarding childhood is still in the process of construction and in search of its space in the curricula of the courses of Pedagogy.
