Abstract

This paper discusses an aporia, in Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology, which involves the concept of perception and language in the French philosopher's work. It presents, with the aid of commentators and of Merleau-Ponty himself, the rearrangements by the philosopher for dealing with this aporia, which resulted in reviews of his thoughts. It concludes with some implications of this aporia for the receptions of Merleau-Ponty in the Physical Education in Brazil.
