Abstract

The experiences of boys and girls throughout their infancy and schooling period tend to educate their bodies in different wayson many aspects. This article sought to problematize some challenges to the teaching Physical Education at school, deepening the connection between women and sport. For this, it was considered historic moments which have placed boys and girls in different fields of membership, face to body and sports practices. It was also considered the experience of women athletes who, along the twentieth century, was marked by various discourses of interdictions and prohibition orders to restrict their sociability to the private sphere of life. At the end, after circumscribing the relation between women and sport in some of their historical, social and political dimensions, it was launched some challenges to teach sports to girls, considering the social relevance of this phenomenon in our society.
