PROFOUND PEDAGOGY: IT’S ROOTS, BODY AND SOUL

This article presents the roots, fundamentals and practical tools of Profound Pedagogy, which taking Jungian psychology as theoretical axis, understands the human being in his/her totality and embraces the unconscious. By observing children under this viewpoint motivates attention to their body, their dreams, their emotions, their intellect, their spirituality and so many other dimensions of being are presented. In this context, the educator tries to contemplate all the child’s necessities, aiming at an integral formation. Profound Pedagogy does not propose a teaching methodology, but an educator enhancement, his/her personality, his/her vision of the human being and his/her knowledge on the child. It includes practices that involve body work, circle dances and/or other, labor with matter through artisan techniques and handwork, as well as plays, games and toys confection.
