CONTRIBUTIONS FROM THE FIELDS OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

Abstract

This text presents a thematic dossier on racism, contextualizing this phenomenon in time and space. The volume brings together sixteen articles, signed by thirty authors from different scientific areas and institutional affiliations, because it is believed that such plurality can provide a comprehensive view of the phenomenon in order to bring more contributions to its study, framework and confrontation. Fifteen articles are dedicated to the Brazilian context (in general or to specific places such as Curitiba, Mato Grosso do Sul, Santa Catarina, Santa Maria [Rio Grande do Sul] and Sergipe) and one article focuses on the Argentine context (La Plata, Buenos Aires). Some texts expose theoretical reflections, while others are the result of research that analyses the school and training context. The content of this dossier will be useful for social scientists, educators and trainers of children, youth and adults, both in academia and in associations and/or engaged with the causes discussed here.
