This article originates from research at the doctoral level and presents reflections on pedagogical practices with babies, especially in the relationships they establish with books in early childhood education. As a methodological tool, ethnography was listed, due the desire to give visibility to the plots and experiences of children, while participating in the research. Through the experiences with books, babies discover the world and themselves, thus, the analyzes presented discuss the potential of the literary project for babies and their relations with books in the library space and the researched nursery room.
