Abstract

Among the different elements placed in a capoeira circle, musicality is a very striking action. In this way, the song is understood as a cultural artifact that, formed from a curriculum, produces identities and, therefore, the subject himself. This essay was born with the interest of analyzing the songs in the universe of capoeira, investigating: how can capoeira themes produce identities at the same time that they tension power relations? To do so, themes posted on Spotify, one of the most accessed platforms in Brazil and in the world, are analyzed. The objective is to point out the productive role of capoeira themes, which demarcate the differences, bring feelings of resistance, discontinuities and tensions, producing the different subjects.
