ASSESSMENT OF THE MUNICIPAL PLAN FOR SOLID WASTE INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT (PMGIRS) IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF CORRENTE-PI

The objective of the study was to analyze the Municipal Plan for Integrated Management of Solid Waste (PMGIRS) of the municipality of Corrente-PI if it complies with the minimum content of art. 19 of Law No. 12,305/2010. Where the analysis of the plan was carried out, in which the indicators were prepared based on the minimum content of items I to XIX of art. 19th The indicators were evaluated by three criteria, namely: attendance, sufficiency and condition. The tool also comprises four complementary indices: the PMGIRS Service Index (IAP), the PMGIRS Quality Index (IQP), the PMGIRS Complexity Index (ICP) and the PMGIRS Potential Index (IPP). The results showed that the IAP was evaluated with grade 10, IQP 18, ICP 22 and IPP 28.5, the percentages being 47.61%, 14.28%, 12.86% and 14.61% respectively. It was observed that the results were not satisfactory, as they did not reach the maximum percentage established to be considered adequate, which is 67%. Based on the analysis made in this study, the PMGIRS of Corrente-PI is considered incomplete, with inconsistencies and failures that do not represent reality, through the research it was possible to observe that the tool developed by the authors, on which this research was based, is of great importance in the evaluation of solid waste plans, since it can detect flaws in the plans and allow the suggestion of possible improvements.
