Abstract

The material dimension of the book, the centrality of the image and the strategies to the reading have marked the lines of experiment in the editorial market last years. This phenomenon acquires special relevance in the illustrated album, located in several cases in an intersection position between the literature for children and for adults. By observing cultural products which break borders between the both literary systems, we noticed out the hybridism of languages, which condition the reading and open new perspectives. We studied, as a pragmatic Alter-Nativo example, an accordion book, a wordless album, a mute comic, a travel through the classics of the universal literature and a reflection on the identity. A work that encourages multiple levels of reading, incorporates innumerable education opportunities, and promotes an intense game of sense building, based on the reader’s intertextuality.
