MANDATORY HIGH SCHOOL IN ARGENTINA: BETTWEEN THE RIGHT AND TE SOCIAL CONTENTION

Abstract

The enlargement of mandatory high school in Argentina starting with the approval of National Education Law number 26.206, and the called inclusion policies did not obliterate the high percentage of young people who give up the school before to conclude the course. The high school dropout rate is high, and the academic performance is very low, besides the chagrin felt by teachers express the feeling they cannot teach in a socially fragmented school. They deserve explanations on the state policy and the teacher work. This work investigates the possible causes for this situation, their aftereffect on professors and students, as well as the state policies implemented.
