Abstract

The reflections presented here, on the practical and theoretical implications of the terms body, education and criticism are part of a larger work in which is inquired about the knowledge on the body and politics. The present text is initiated with a discussion triggered by the question why studying the matter of the body.  Then, considerations are performed on the word wearing criticism, mainly on its tentatively theoretical use, but also on the practical use in politics and education. Some ideas are taken from that and they can serve as hypotheses to study the reception of Critical Theory (Frankfurt School's) or for thinkers who can be considered in a closer register (e. g. Althusser) in the educational and political field in the context of recent political changes in Latin America, especially in the civic-military post-dictatorship Uruguay.
