Abstract

This article presents a phenomenological analysis of self-education. Education is the process of inter-action, dialogue and inter-subjectivity. The self-education is the process of transforming himself/herself (intra-action), monologue and intra-subjectivity. The self-education presents two fundamental principles: the recursion and uniqueness. Educator and student are both active in the subject who educates himself/herself. Each subject may have an object, specific way and reason for your self-education. The study analyzes the process of self-education of Goethe. Nature was the theme of his self-education, a phenomenology of senses and cognition was his mode and his motive was to search for the essence of things. The main point of the self-education sense is the creation of meaning from the significant sphere, which gives meaning and cohesion to the existence.
