Abstract

This article deals with the expanded version of the opening conference of the 8th SIMFOP (Symposium on Teacher Training in Portuguese acronym), focusing on the 20 years of the Law on Guidelines and Bases of National Education. In this work, the focus is on the normative limits and the challenges in Basic Education in the current political and social context of Brazil. The conference was held on November 7th, 2016 at UNISUL headquarters in campus Tubarão-SC.
