The article presents a theoretical review about the Activities category from positions of the Cultural Historical Approach and Developmental Didactics, and its impact on university education. Theoretical methods such as analysis-synthesis, historical-logical, transition from the abstract to the concrete, system approach and theoretical modeling were used. To identify how the phenomenon of activity manifests itself, from the community dimension/perspective (De Vicenzi, et al., 2020), an instrument was applied to a non-probabilistic sample of convenience of 108 higher level students from the Tangamanga, Campus Tequis University, in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. As a result, Regularities for the teaching-learning process are exposed, which must be taken into account in university education according to the types of activity assumed.
