The hazards and risks of sewage clearing should be studied in order to reduce the possibility of occupational accidents in this function. Aiming at such analysis, methodologies, techniques and tools (field inspections and PRA matrix assembly) were used to identify hazards and analyse risks of this function, using as a case study a sanitation enterprise which works as an outsorced company of Companhia Catarinense de Águas e Saneamento (CASAN), from the city of Florianópolis, Santa Catarina. In summary, ten risks of different natures (physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic and accident) were verified, with their severity ranging from minor to critical. For each risk, preventive and corrective measures were indicated in order to establish a healthier and safer work routine.
