The objective of this study was to identify the environmental impacts of a degraded area, located within the city limits of the city of Itumbiara-GO, and propose actions for its recovery. Collection mechanisms, photographic records, systematic observations, and notes in a field diary were used as data. The characterization of the physical and biological environment was through direct observation and literature of the terrain characteristics, hydrology, climate, and vegetation of Itumbiara region in which the study area is located. In preparation, the environmental impacts and measures for recovery of the area were identified using as a reference for observation soil conditions, existing native vegetation, garbage dump, presence of animals, and the conditions of the springs. The main environmental impacts in the area were, slope, soil compaction in some places, removal of native vegetation cover, plastic containers scattered in various locations, the presence of grazing animals, domestic sewage released by one of the springs, and construction of a well in another source, which was being used as a trough for animals grazing in the area. The main measures for property recovery and maintenance consist of the isolation of the area, removal of solid waste, planning and unpacking the land, signposts prohibiting the entry of animals and disposal of waste, mechanical control of invasive plant species, planting and maintenance of native species, and surrounding community awareness of the need for preservation. It can be concluded that in the study area there are impacts on the biotic and abiotic environment from human action and that the recovery measures and maintenance will only be effective if the surrounding population is aware of the importance of saving natural resources and ensuring a better quality of life. Finally, it is noteworthy that this study may support the implementation of recovery measures in other areas with physical and biological profile similar to the study area.
