PANORAMA DA LOGÍSTICA REVERSA DOS RESÍDUOS DE MEDICAMENTOS VENCIDOS OU EM DESUSO NO MUNICÍPIO DE SANANDUVA/RS

Abstract

The use of drugs, which is essential for maintaining health and also for prolonging people's lives, the ease of acquisition and encouragement of the media generates excessive use and thus the accumulation in homes. Many of these drugs are used without regard to shelf life or are disposed of inappropriately generating an environmental and public health problem. Reverse logistics presents a new conception of the logistics process, the strategy that operates the return of after-sales and postconsumer waste to the business and/or productive environment. The objective of this study was to analyze the implementation of reverse logistics by points of sale of medicines for human use in the municipality of Sananduva / RS. The pharmacies and drugstores were visited and through a questionnaire were addressed aspects regarding the receipt and destination of overdue or out-of-use drugs. The results evidenced that the reverse logistics of drugs is far from being implemented in the municipality of Sananduva, considering that of the twelve (12) establishments participating in the research, only one presents specific collection. Getting the participation and awareness of end consumers is critical to achieving good results in the programs, the end, consumers represent the starting point of the reverse chain.
