This research aimed to analyze or mandatory disclosure of socio environmental demands in the accounting regulatory context of high-impact companies listed on the Brazilian stock exchange. I used descriptive and qualitative-quantitative methodology. The sample was composed of 56 companies from the Brazilian stock market in the year 2017 included with high polluting potential in the terms of the National Environmental Policy. Two socio-environmental aspects were found to occur in 46 companies, or equivalent to 82% of the sample. I verified that 18% of two Audit Reporters provide relevant aspects related to socio-environmental questions, which are associated with the Big Four. The socio environmental information reported will be concentrated in the group of accounts of circulating liabilities and non-circulating ones in the explanatory notes. The petrochemical and mining sectors were identified with the highest number of signs of distortion. The results indicate the need to improve accounting registration and reporting not related to socio-environmental aspects.
