In the midst of increasing urbanization and the significant increase in urban agglomerations, hydrographic basins have been largely affected. In metropolitan regions, as is the case of Campinas, population growth and demographic density is derived from industrialization and water availability, which makes the hydrographic basins of these surroundings increasingly committed to supplying the surrounding communities, whether by water quantity or quality, among other factors. In this sense, the objective of this research is to analyze a set of water security indicators in order to support the management of water resources in the Piracicaba, Capivari and Jundiaí hydrographic basins, considering as a reference the dimensions of Water Security, according to the National Security Plan. Safety, in line with the System of Sustainability Indicators Driving Force-Pressure-State-ImpactResponse. The research method is characterized as a qualitative exploratory. The choice of the object of study is justified, since, the hydrographic basins, located in the Metropolitan Region of Campinas, are positioned in a strategic territory from the economic and political point of view. As a result, this work points out that the application of the Driving Force-Pressure-State-Impact-Response model as a tool for water management and security presents itself as one of the paths for the sustainability of hydrographic basins in the sense of helping to ensure a condition adequate water supply in terms of water availability and demand.
