Reading the words of reading world: teaching geography in the early years of elementary education

This article aims to discuss the results of research on the teaching of geography in public schools performed Tubarão, camps Training and partners in teacher training, especially the early years of elementary school at the University of Southern Santa Catarina. The search was performed by students of the Faculty of Education who interviewed 22 educators. The conceptionsofteaching geography, traditionaland critical, are discussedfrom the results. The analysis goes back to fundamental role of science in the process of geographic alphabetization and literacy and contradictory practice of school curricula.Downloads
