PLAN OF SUSTAINABLE LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT: BLOCKS WITH REUSE OF WASTE CONTRIBUTING WITH HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS IN FEDERAL ADOPTION OF A3P

Abstract

The Sustainable Logistics and Management Plan (SLP) became mandatory for Brazilian federal agencies. Thus, Federal Institutes of Higher Education (FIHE) should also conduct and publish their SLP, seeking to meet the required criteria while using the Environmental Agenda for public agencies (A3P) as a basis. A3P is focused on recycling, reuse and other items that can produce benefits through the use of sustainable building materials. Based on this theme, the present study aimed to make a comparison between the objectives of the sustainable management plan for the study universities and the main benefits of waste concrete blocks, in order to answer the following research question: What are the main benefits that FIHE could have by using waste concrete blocks, taking into account the objectives of the sustainable management plan based on A3P? Through descriptive research and qualitative approach, it was concluded that the priority of FIHE in the SLP is solid waste management, sustainable procurement and contracting. The main benefits found in the use of Green Blocks is that waste is recycled for the production of the material; thus, the blocks are sustainable. Furthermore, using the blocks enables faster workmanship, smaller impact and reduced use of raw materials.
