Biosurfactants are resistant to microbial agents such as fungi and bacteria, due to their special and resistant properties as hygiene and personal care agents. This application is of great economic importance because, in addition to being drivers of the bioeconomy, they are also renewable products. Thus, this work presents a prospection of patents about the use of biosurfactants in the care of personal compositions, using: Espacenet, Patentscope, and INPI, as a database. Through the evaluation of the patent position over time, the large number of biosurfactants that are used in personal care products was identified, which reflects a promising alternative for the manufacture of new products for this area. This growth is an important indicator of its entry, rise, and stabilization in the market.
