The objective of this study was to analyze the applicability of the use of water condensed by air conditioners at the Instituto Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul (IFMS) - Corumbá campus as an alternative to promote sustainability in the public administration. This is because this water can be used in a sustainable way and, consequently, this sustainable practice favors not only financial savings, but also savings of natural resources, in this case the planet's drinking water. The first step of the research was to survey some parameters about the equipment and its use, then, by sampling, we determined the flow of water condensed by the equipment, and finally, a basic economic analysis was performed, seeking to identify and quantify the percentage of savings in the monthly and annual water bill of the institute. It was concluded that the volume of water generated by the air conditioners at IFMS Corumbá is about 25 thousand liters per month, a considerable amount, reaching about 16.5% of the current average consumption. In addition, it was noticed that the use of this water provides a reduction in the exclusive dependence on traditional sources of supply and, consequently, financial savings. Thus contributing to life on the planet, causing lower spending on public coffers and consequently sustainability.
