The reconciliation between Human and Sacred in Uma Aprendizagem ou O Livro dos Prazeres

Abstract

This paper intends to interpret how the reconciliation of the Human with the Sacred in the Clarice Lispector’s novel Uma Aprendizagem ou O Livro dos Prazeres. We propose that the Lori character, to seek knowledge of herself, searches the Sacred, which is not only the discovery of a new God for Lori, but the description of outer nature elements on the novel. About the question Sacred, we conducted a dialogue with Georges Bataille, Mirceas Eliade and Søren Kierkegaard. About the romance interpreted in this paper, we dialogue with the works of Mayara Guimarães, Marilia Almeida, Renata Tavares and Olga de Sá. The methodology adopted here is the phenomenological hermeneutic reading: listening to the questions brought in the literary work. Such interpretation follows the understanding of Martin Heidegger, Manuel de Castro and Antonio Ferraz.
