Cristovão Tezza, fiction, autobiography, the eternal son
Abstract
The aim of this article is to raise some questions related to the autobiographical writing of author Cristovao Tezza (1952- ), in particular, "The Eternal Son", published in 2007, for Record publishing company, which, compared with his eleven previous novels, could be considered the highest point of his confessions. It is looked to show that the life of Cristovao Tezza establishes it the strategies and the esthetic resources used by him to dissimulate and/or to be moved away from the truthful material, right hinting detachment of the concept of the purely biographical sort. In this context and ahead of the impossibility to delimit the sorts "romance" and "autobiography", the narrative of Tezza seems to be defined as almost a confession by typical features, conventional literary language.
