Abstract

This research identifies the sources of competitive advantage of a leading company in the fast food sector. The authors identify 11 strategic resources as well as dynamic capabilities focused on the perception of market changes, product development, processes and technology. After highlighting several changes that have occurred throughout fast-food history and the adaptive movements of the major chains, the authors qualify it as a moderately dynamic market. It is concluded that in order to achieve lasting success in this segment, not only the possession of strategic resources is required, as the development of dynamic capabilities which allow companies to adapt to market dynamics is also deemed necessary.
