Abstract

From an integrative literature review, this article discusses and critically analyzes the most widespread academic production on the factors that influence knowledge sharing and the possible barriers to do it in organizations. The results suggest that knowledge sharing can be determined by individual and organizational factors, as by technological factors. The study also identified possible barriers to knowledge sharing. They are directed to the costs associated with the act of sharing, for both those who seek knowledge and those who provide it.
