Abstract

The objective of this research was to identify the levels of financial education perceived and practiced by undergraduation and graduation professors from Brazilian public higher education institutions (HEI). The survey, carried out through an online questionnaire, resulted in 549 valid responses, analyzed using linear regression. The study showed that undergraduate and graduate professors over-evaluated their knowledge of financial education. Gender, age, having dependents and income affect the perceived and actual level of financial education. Graduation in the business area has a positive influence on the financial education that teachers have.
