Historically considered a Portuguese heritage, the cordel literature, deeply embedded in the life of the northeastern man, today is a cultural tradition so strong and entrenched that marks its identity, indelibly. This article is a comparative dialogical study of the Cordel in Brazil and the Cordel of Portugal and their influence on artistic movements. The research subject is Brazilian culture and the cordelista group Cordel do Fogo Encantado, with a reflection on the adaptation of the popular culture of our country in favor of progressive culture and the aesthetics of orality as an experience of theatricality combined with musicality shaped by/to this theatrical experience.Downloads
