Aspects of Plínio Marcos theater: violence invades the scene

Abstract

This article aims to develop a critical reading about what Plínio Marcos theater represented as a space of resistence to censorship forced by the military regime. In this sense, the impossibility of a direct confrontation with the oppressive system contributes to mimic situations involvig violence and eschatology as terms capable of denouncing social inequality as a kind of Achilles heel of the ditactorship. Thus, exposes situations that aim to destabilize the regime and point to its misdeeds. For that, we resort to the examples of the pieces Navalha na carne, Dois perdidos numa noite suja and Abajur lilás, which help us to deepen the discussion about the relationship between violence and literature, concurring with a term that aggravates the proposal of analyze.
