Amarelo Manga, directed by Claudio Assis, is here analysed as a film that breaks with the centrality of human figure and presents a peculiar composition of space, mainly in relation to the representation of urban decay in the third world. This article aims at investigating the narrative and imagetic maneuvers undertaken by the film and at pointing out how Assis’ work examines the decline of a city at the same time that it constructs a strong critique of human will and liberal values.Downloads
