In this paper we aim to compare the short story “Bartleby, the scrivener: A story of Wall Street” to some Paulo Henriques Britto’s poems in order to identify language strategies that carry some relevant theoretical and philosophical issues on the construction of the senses in a poem. Taking account the fragile condition of Brazilian democracy, we intend to observe closely the political aspects acting on reality, provided by a poetical view.
