Abstract

This paper analyzes three subjective documentaries: Rua de mão dupla (Cao Guimarães, 2002), Jogo de cena (Eduardo Coutinho,2006) and Serious games (Harum Farocki, 2010). The analysis aims at understanding the singularity of such works by means of the language games formulations, by Ludwig Wittgenstein, and of the subjective machines, by Felix Guatarri. By using such notions, one intends to contribute to the debate on the existing relations between contemporary documentaries, subjectivity, language and ethics in documentaries.
