This paper aims to analyze João Batista de Andrade’s O Homem que virou suco (1979) from a political perspective that seeks to problematize the crystalized stereotypical image of the migrant from the Northeast of Brazil as historically stigmatized in our audiovisual culture. The focus is on the politics of the face as a means to empower the image of the migrant and potencialize their otherwise victimizing portrayal.Downloads
